People love custom chalk boards because it’s a great way to write out your to-do list, but it’s also a cool throw-back decoration that’s fully in style.

Number 1. Chalkboard paint do’s and don’ts.
If you’re pining to dump a can of chalk board paint on every wall of the house, but don’t want to mess something up, remember that as with everything, there are do’s and don’ts. A sleek chalk board can be such a cool accept for your house, or a complete disaster. Check out these quick tips of do’s and don’ts to get creative within your limits.
2. DIY chalk board mugs.
Wet your whistle with a cool chalk board mugs. Maybe the idea seems crazy (besides, how does a chalk board double as something that holds liquid?) The beauty of chalk board paint is that you can put it on almost anything for a chalk-able finish. And what better place than a mug? You can add a daily quote or let your kids decorate it for the day before heading to work.

Or anything else you want to label and serve. You can snag a cool tray anywhere—chalk sandwich board signs, or chalk menu boards for restaurants. In a nut shell, you’re going to stick it to the wall or surface where you want the cool chalk boards to be. Be sure to measure carefully so that it doesn’t end up even a little bit off. It’s a good idea to even tape the adhesive to the wall for a quick look at where you want it before beginning.
You can mark the wall where you want it. Next, you’ll peel the backing off, stick it to the wall in place, and use a damp sponge to glide over the surface-- it’s just like those little rub on tattoos you used as a kid!
Don’t get it too wet or the paper will begin to disintegrate, which could get messy. Carefully peel off the backing, and voila! A cool surface for chalk boarding! Be sure to let it dry properly before use. Chalk board vinyl is quick, easy, and less messy than using paint.

We’re not making things overly complex in this cool filing cabinet makeover idea. All you need is sand paper, brushes or a roller, some chalk board paint, and chalk! Sand it down before painting so that the surface takes the coat of paint well. Now you have a filing cabinet that can be easily labeled with chalk! This is a great DIY project that doesn’t require you to be a master carpenter for an easy and quick filing cabinet re-do.
